“Dr. Thamir Alshammari is an associate professor of health outcomes. He is pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics consultant. Dr.Alshammari is a distinguished expert for the Chinese National drug safety and policy center at Xian, China. He is a senior researcher at the Medication Safety Research Chair. He is a fellow with the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP). Dr.Alshammari is also a collaborator with the Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics (OHDSI) working in real world data and evidence projects. Dr.Alshammari served as dean of the college of pharmacy, University of Hail, and the national pharmacovigilance and drug safety center, SFDA. He is a member of several committees, and he serves as a chair in some of them.
Dr.Alshammari Has over 110 publications in peer-reviewed journals (Nature, BMJ, the Lancet and others) and has been invited to many national and international conferences and meetings. Dr. Alshammari received his bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences from king Saud university. He also got his master’s degree in clinical pharmacy from the same school. Dr.Alshammari received his Ph.D. in pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics from the university of Rhode Island, USA.
Dr.Alshammari did several fellowships, including a post-doctoral fellowship at the Office of Surveillance and Epidemiology, US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He was the only Saudi who did a post-doctoral fellowship at the FDA. Further, he did a pre-doctoral fellowship at veterans affairs hospitals in, USA. Also, he did a summer internship at US FDA.
His research interests include healthcare system, health outcomes, patient safety, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacovigilance, medication safety, and Pharmacoeconomics.”
